1. Chennai Super Kings Beat Kolkata Knight Riders, at Chennai
The fourth IPL season began on April 8, with an opening game between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. In a match that went down to the wire, CSK prevailed by 2 runs. Batting first CSK managed a modest score of 153/4 off their 20 overs. KKR's batting line-up was surely up to the task but a bizarre decision by skipper Gambhir to come down the order at number 6 was partly to blame for the loss.

Yuvraj Singh will lead Pune Warriors' IPL 4 campaign against his former team, Kings XI Punjab, on Sunday, April 10.
Pune Warriors have the following foreign players at their disposal: Callum Ferguson, Nathan McCullum, Mitchell Marsh, Angelo Matthews, Tim Paine, Wayne Parnell, Jesse Ryder, Graeme Smith, Jerome Taylor and Alonso Thomas.
